It's sort of like a boat on the ocean when it reaches the shore
Left grateful for the time it had but wanting more
Like a sky without a sun
An unfinished portrait when you've run out of colors
Wanting to hold your Mother
but being unable
Unstable becomes the foundation that once held strong
Gone are the hands that once helped you along as a little girl
as you look back on a world
A world that just meant so much more with her in it
And you just don't know how to live it....
this life without her
It's like starting a new chapter
yet the page is blank
So on this first Mother's day I spend without you
I write these words about you on that blank page
Goodbye to the beautiful woman that graced my life to the age of almost 27
I look forward to the day that you greet me in Heaven
with the same embrace as you did while on earth
From the moment you gave birth to me
You made it a point to be
the best Mother a daughter could ever ask for
You gave me more love
than one is even capable of
and I thank you for all you endured in your life
just so that you could be a part of mine
All the days you pushed through with a smile
when all the while you were in so much pain
Especially towards the end
Yet you fought through it just to spend
a little more time with your baby girl
whose world you knew would change forever
the moment you left her
and for that I can never repay you
I can only hope to
make you proud someday
of the woman you raised
It goes without saying
how much I love you
So Mommy for you,
I will celebrate through these tears
remembering the years we spent together
Memories I will cherish forever
until we meet again my sweet Mother...
