"The same was in the beginning with God." - John 1:2
In these sentences the Trinity is proven.
They provoked an epiphany in me, I'll explain further in a moment.....
And this verse: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
What does Begotten mean?
1. 'To cause (something) to happen or exist.' 2. (typically of a man, sometimes of a man and a woman) bring (a child) into existence by the process of reproduction. 3. To give rise to; or bring about.
Synonyms included: lead to, result in, bring about, create, produce, generate, etc. You get the gist.
So I read that definition and I then I read John 1:14 once more and these questions and answers came to me:
Why was Jesus the Son of Man?
Because His body was flesh, it was 'Of man'.
So then why was He the Son of God?
Because His being was deity, He was 'Of God'
And then I read John 20:22 "And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy spirit."
And then I thought well, how could The disciples have received the Holy Spirit by the breath of Jesus unless the very breath of Jesus was in fact The Holy Spirit.
So, if the Word was God, and the Word became flesh, and that flesh was Jesus, and the Holy Spirit was the very breath that came out of Jesus, (the same breath that breathed life into us and formed the entire universe) then I am left to one indisputable truth.... Jesus is God.
There is nothing new under the sun. Jesus Was and Is and Is to come. His word is true.
