Some nights, I attempt to close my eyes
But my mind is wide awake
Almost as if to make time refrain from forward motion
As the sound of the ocean in the distance
Reverberates within my existence
A persistent pull towards my dreams
beckons me like a lover who calls my soul
by a name that only he could know
And these seeds planted within me lifetimes ago
They begin to awaken to the Light
that had been waiting in the night all along
Like a bird witholding its song for the dawn of a new day
My past fades into the horizon
Just as the moon steps aside when
the Sun is ready to shine
So must my ego if my divine self is to truly thrive.
But my mind is wide awake
Almost as if to make time refrain from forward motion
As the sound of the ocean in the distance
Reverberates within my existence
A persistent pull towards my dreams
beckons me like a lover who calls my soul
by a name that only he could know
And these seeds planted within me lifetimes ago
They begin to awaken to the Light
that had been waiting in the night all along
Like a bird witholding its song for the dawn of a new day
My past fades into the horizon
Just as the moon steps aside when
the Sun is ready to shine
So must my ego if my divine self is to truly thrive.
