"Forgiveness heals the deepest wounds. When we let go of the hate and anger that consumes the soul, it allows Love and peace to flow in its place and take root." - Brianna Colleen Carey

Just so we're clear.... neither looting, nor vandalism, and/or violence are good ways to get your point across that you desire equality and stand for positive change. Only love can extinguish hate, and only education can conquer ignorance. All you're doing by taking part in the aforementioned is adding to an already deep-rooted stereotype that blacks are criminals. Stop with the violence. Those who live by the sword die by the sword. -Matthew 26:52 Have we learned nothing from history? It's like some people have not evolved after all this time. If the old way didn't work, you have to change. As a whole, we must evolve for the better. “You either evolve or you disappear.” - Tupac Shakur. I go out of my way to not be the stereotype, and so should others. Cease every opportunity to show them, we're smart, we're intellectuals, we're business men and women, CEO's, and doctors, just like anyone, and show them we matter to the greater good by how we contribute to society, not take away from it. Each person you encounter is a chance to show them what our culture has to offer, and one by one create a positive change. Great change is not achieved on a world scale, it's brought about human to human interaction. "As one person, I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person." - Paul Shane Spear. Be clever and creative, use common sense, and tact to get your point across, otherwise, it's a lost cause, and everything that every other great black man or woman in history has fought for will have been in vain. Don't be a part of the problem. Be a part of the solution. - Brianna Colleen Carey

Like a River to the Ocean.....

We share a Love so rare.... One that breaks all boundaries of logic. The kind of Love that envelops the soul. There is no rationalizing it. You just have to let it flow. It's like a River that longs to be with the Ocean, because it knows they belong together. But whether they are or aren't, the River is forever a part of the Ocean . Just like that River, I sit back hoping we'll flow as One someday; maybe when the tides change and the distance fades between us....

Restore My Soul

Breathe deep. Exhale. Repeat.
I seek to quiet my mind
it gets so loud in there at times
I find it's hard to listen
to Your still, small voice in the distance
This consistent battle with my flesh
has kept me bound
The knowledge once found, is fading
A storm raging where there was once calm
I know I do not belong to myself
I have called for Your help
on more than one occasion,
and You've came and
set me Free
Is it too much of me to ask again?
May I still take Your hand
and journey to the Land of purity?
Will You still walk with me
although my feet are unclean?
They've seen better days, that's for sure
Restore my Soul
It was once pure like Yours and I know....
it can be again.

All Lives Matter

I appreciate the rise in supporters of Black lives, but may we keep in mind that it is not our skin that matters but our Blood. Our Christian/Judaism practicing brethren are being executed, and public attempts are being made in places you would've considered safe at one point in time, to create a global movement to take out any and all who practice these Faiths. Just as Hitler once TRIED to do (and I capitalize 'tried' because he failed as will the others). People act as though this persecution is new.... but it is not. With the media rehashing it over and over it seems more prominent now, but it has taken place over the course of history several times and will again because It Is Written. God's people will be persecuted because they are His, period. Not because of their race but because of their heritage. See, when people think of Israel, they think of the place on the map, but what Israel is, is not a place, it is A people, it is made up of twelve tribes, and blacks belong to the Tribe of Judah. I won't go too deep into elaborating but we are Israel too. People seem somewhat surprised by the rise in attacks on blacks but if you travel back into our past, you will link our heritage to Israel. There are still black Jews in Ethiopia, (Beta Israel) and across the world scattered. It's why we were slaves in the Bible days, and slaves not too long ago, and it's why we feel the oppression now. Just like in the days of Moses, they will try to keep our people down, and when I say 'our people' I mean people of Israel, (forget skin color), but who ARE you? Ask yourself, why are we being persecuted? Whose blood runs through your veins? Wake up ya'll, it's deeper than color. It doesn't matter if your black or white. It's the Blood that matters; and right now, that blood is being poured out in various parts of the world. I cry for the brethren as a whole. And so should you.
In the depths of every mans' soul lies the desire to be loved; and all the evil you see take place in the world is a direct result of that desire unfulfilled. - Brianna Colleen Carey

Life is Sacrifice.
Of time; money; energy....etc.
No thing can be obtained without giving of ones' self. A harvest cannot be reaped without the effort of planting, watering, pulling weeds, etc. So why in life do we expects rewards to come easy? Standing by idly and watching a seed won't make it grow. If you want something to happen for your life, you must get up and work hard for it. That hard work, applied with faith will cause God's favor to activate, and you will be rewarded for your labor. 'Faith without works is dead'. So, why not sacrifice with a smile on your face.... and know that your efforts, however exhausting, are not wasted? Whenever you must give of yourself, do so with joy, not begrudgingly. God loves a cheerful giver.

When fixated on our own misfortunes we can miss opportunities to show compassion for someone else. We all have struggles, but we must try not to become them; for that is when we lose sight of others and often disregard humanity. Be there for one another. - Brianna Colleen Carey ©

All Life is a Miracle.

Some people look at a tree and simply see an object that impedes their view, or something they reserve the right to cut down for profit whereas, I look at a tree and see a living, breathing being, that graciously gives the same life it has been given. Every time I take a breath inward, I can't help but be thankful to that tree and to the Creator of it. We are connected to the trees by Design. Our lungs....designed to rely upon oxygen and the trees....designed to create it. What I cannot see or comprehend is how anyone feels entitled to the views aforementioned.

All Life is a Miracle.

The day we universally embrace that statement is when we will have learned the meaning of universal compassion. Everything in Nature provides.... we as Humans should mirror Nature.

The Cross (Good Friday)

He took the sins of the world
In the tearing of His body
from the lashes of a whip
By the puncturing of the sword underneath His rib
Barely able to breathe....
He speaks His last plea to Forgive
All this He did;
Not because we're worthy
or deserving of His mercy
But because.....
He Loves.
