Idolatry

We were programmed to worship God. Literally within our genetic makeup lies a longing to worship.

This is why, when Praise for Him is not continually on our lips, we will always feel the desire to create idols. Just as they did in Exodus, when Moses went up to Mount Sinai to get the commandments after the Israelites had been rescued from Egypt. They felt an extreme desire to thank someone, or even something for saving them. So they built the golden calf, and began worshipping it for what God had done. The Word says "even if we don't praise Him, the rocks will cry out." Idolatry happens when we let our praise become idle. And when we don't recall to our mind, without ceasing, who our blessings come from.

Glorify the Lord and worship Him in all things! He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14) but He is a good God! (Psalm 100:5)

- Just a sweet reminder to go along with the bible verse I posted last night.
"Little Children, Keep yourselves from idols, Amen." 1 John 5:21
